Terms of Service

Effective 1 September 2026

These terms cover using Aquarium. They also set out what we will never do — the commitments the platform was built around.

1. Agreeing to these terms

By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you are using Aquarium for a company, you confirm you may agree on its behalf. Aquarium is operated by Aquarium, LLC.

2. What Aquarium is — and is not

Aquarium is a networking and information platform. Founders build a business profile, work a checklist, and record a pitch. Approved investors browse those pitches and can connect with founders who accept.

We are not a broker-dealer, investment adviser, or funding portal. Nothing on Aquarium is an offer or solicitation of securities. No investment transaction happens on the platform, and we take no fee, commission or carry on any funding you raise.

We do not advise on valuation, equity or securities, do not recommend deals, and do not verify the accuracy of anything a member writes about their business. Do your own diligence and take professional advice.

Resources, funding listings and assistant answers are general information, not legal, financial, tax or accounting advice.

3. Your account

You must be 18 or older. Give accurate information and keep it current. You are responsible for what happens under your account — keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has it.

Founders sign up directly. Investor, advertiser and affiliate-partner roles are granted only after we review an application, and we may decline one. Some roles require a one-time identity check.

4. Founders are never charged for access to money

This is the commitment Aquarium was built around, and it binds us:

  • We will never charge a founder for access to investors, lenders, grants or funding opportunities.
  • No pay-to-pitch fee, no introduction fee, no application fee, no success fee, no closing fee — from us or from anyone operating through us.
  • The resource library, the funding directory, the checklist, the pitch video and both assistants are free on every plan and will stay that way.

A paid membership buys founder tooling — additional business profiles, the plan builder, milestones and the credit centre. It buys nothing that touches capital.

5. Membership and billing

Memberships are billed monthly or annually through Stripe, and renew automatically until cancelled. Prices are shown before you buy. You can cancel at any time from your membership page; cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep access to the end of the period already paid for.

Founding-member pricing, where offered, is honoured for as long as the membership stays active.

6. What you post

What you write stays yours. You give us permission to store and display it as the product requires — showing your business profile to investors you have opted into reaching, your pitch video in the deck, your listing in the directory.

Only post things you have the right to post, and keep them accurate. We can remove content that breaks these terms.

7. How to behave here

Do not:

  • Misrepresent yourself, your business, your firm, or your track record.
  • Charge a founder any fee for access to capital, or attempt to arrange one.
  • Use the platform to send unsolicited commercial messages.
  • Scrape, harvest or resell member information.
  • Try to reach data, accounts or areas you have not been granted.
  • Harass anyone, or post anything unlawful.

Investors, advertisers and affiliate partners may only contact members through the routes the product provides, and only after that member has acted first.

8. Advertisers and affiliate partners

Trusted Partner listings are reviewed before they appear and before edits go live. Paid placement is always labelled as such. A listing is not an endorsement, and we do not guarantee the services behind one.

Affiliate partners earn a flat fee per qualified membership conversion, at the rate in their own agreement. Self-referral does not qualify, and attribution is recorded once and does not move afterwards.

9. Suspension and closing your account

You can close your account whenever you like. We may suspend or close one that breaks these terms, or where we are required to. If we do, we will tell you why unless we are prevented from saying.

10. Disclaimers and limits

Aquarium is provided “as is”. We do not promise it will always be available or free of errors, and we do not warrant anything a member or a listed provider says.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for lost profits, business or funding opportunities. Our total liability is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply to you only as far as the law permits.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the effective date above, and tell you in the product before a significant change takes effect. Continuing to use Aquarium after that means you accept the new terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict of law rules.
